Permaculturalist, rural contractor, artist and grandfather. Trained in agriculture [specialising in Hill + Marginal Farming]. BA (Open)

For more than thirty years has worked on, or in association with the land. Wide and varied experience in horticulture, agriculture, forestry, construction, land management. Employment history includes farm and forestry contracting, management for the National Trust and work for a short time on farms in Norway.

A smallholder for twenty or more years, and a long-time advocate of integrated land use, has utilised a variety of pockets of land by means of borrowing, renting, guerrilla style occupation and sundry co-operative ventures. Works in partnership with his wife Evelyn; trading as Lakeland Permaculture, to steward land and resources, help other people to do so, and to provide tuition, training and encouragement.

Completed Permaculture Design Course in 2008, at Middlewood, with Rod Everett. Currently compiling a portfolio of designs whilst working towards a Diploma in Applied Permaculture Design.
